There are various Go-related blogs, but I miss a simple way to read new posts at the same place. I love reading Planet Lisp, and I thought I could create something similar for the Go community.

Planet Golang is a blog aggregator, built of course in Go, with my own github.com/galdor/planetgolang.

Even though it is very simple to build a website backend with Go, thanks to the standard library, I decided to to make the website statically generated. Every 10 minutes, a cron job runs the planetgolang binary. It downloads feeds, finds new posts, and stores then in a SQLite database. The website is then generated using a mix of templates and static files.

I added a few feeds, but Iā€™m counting on the community to send me new ones. I hope Planet Golang will become a useful resource for all gophers out there.
