I tried to find some time recently to continue learning about Erlang. rebar3 seems to be the most used dependency manager, however it is not packaged in Gentoo.

I wrote an ebuild, but could not get it accepted in the official portage tree. So I created my own Gentoo overlay and hosted in on Github.

If you are using Gentoo, adding this overlay is very simple: just add it to /etc/portage/repos.conf:

[galdor-overlay]
location = /usr/local/portage-galdor
sync-type = git
sync-uri = git://github.com/galdor/gentoo-overlay.git
auto-sync = yes

Then update your local cache with emerge --sync, or eix-sync if eix is installed.

You can then install rebar3 like any other package.
